BHUTAN'S
ARTS AND CRAFTS (continued)
Zhabdrung had intended to establish as many arts and crafts practices as possible but due to time constraints and other demands upon him, he instead prayed for the next regents to be able to fulfill his wishes related to expanding these practices through the establishment of learning centers for these arts.
Most major arts and crafts of Bhutan were promoted and developed through the establishment of learning centers around the country by the Third King.
Now, one can learn both theory and develop practical skills in great depth as related to all 13 arts and crafts within one center due to the establishment of National Institute for Zorig Chusum in Thimphu.
This institute was conceived and implemented by His Majesty, Jigme Singye Wangchuk in 1999. There is also an additional school for arts and crafts in Trashi Yangtse where one can develop practical skills in all 13 Arts and Crafts.
